2008
(Nov 12 - Andy Murphy, NHS member) I just read Thom Hogan's 2009 predictions for camera companies, and one prediction regarding Nikon is that in 2009 ther will be "A limited edition Nikon: likely a D3 sensor in an SP-like camera, but a possibility of a D3 sensor in a Nikon F 50th anniversary body, potentially both.
- Likely a 10,000 copy run, mostly sold in Japan.
- Very high price, probably the highest-priced Nikon ever."
Thom's prediction file is at http://www.bythom.com/2009predictions.htm
(October) Dan Colucci's website, which went down when AOL stopped web hosting, is back up at www.antiquecameras.net. Dan maintains an incredible list of prices for collectible cameras, with a section on Nikon RF. Thanks Dan!
(July) The big news is the publication of issue 100 of the Journal, which contains complete coverage of the convention in Vancouver, including of course photos of everyone!
(Feb 19) Wes Loder's new book, The Nikon Camera in America 1946-1953 is shipping!
This is a "must have" book for those interested in a detailed account of the early years of Nikon history. A first quick scan tells me this is a very well researched book, which includes history you will not find anywhere else, it is well illustrated also with photographs unique to this book.
(Jan) Robert Rotoloni's New book is shipping,
NHS members report having received a copy! Visit the Nikon forum for more discussion and information about this important new book. Bob will be signing copies at the NHS convention!
